Former Australian Ambassador to Israel says Middle East is close to co-existing
Former Australian Ambassador to Israel, Dave Sharma, has told 4BC Drive host Gary Hardgrave that he believes the Middle East is getting closer to co-existing with Israel.
The current Liberal senator from New South Wales says the region has “gradually” reconciled itself with Israel’s existence.
“But the big holdout against that movement had been Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran under this leadership. And I think within Iran that … opposition will have been removed,” he said.
Mr Sharma also noted Iran’s regime had done to the region as well as internally within their own country.
“Iranian living standards now and their economic prospects and their prosperity have all been significantly held back by this regime,” he added.
