David Janetzki defends ‘balanced’ budget to ‘deliver on election commitments’

The LNP have released their first budget with a record spend on health, money for parents and great news for new home buyers.

However, there is no widespread energy relief, and the state’s debt continues to grow.

Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “When we were preparing this budget, we did go about it very seriously, we took it calmly and methodically, line by line and yesterday we wanted to get the right balance for Queensland to invest in the frontline, the jobs and services.”

“We’ve aimed for the balance and to get that right, and you know we wanted to deliver for Queensland on our election commitments.”
