The United States has demanded that Australia lift its defence spending by billions.

The Nationals are also ramping up the pressure on Anthony Albanese to ensure he doesn’t cave to Donald Trump when the pair face off this month, with a specific focus on tariffs.

Nationals Leader David Littleproud told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “​We are going to pay a very big price if we don’t get it right.”
