Tensions mount between Russia and Ukraine as Trump struggles to face the ‘cold hard truth’

Tensions are growing after US President Donald Trump issued a travel ban on 12 countries, and Russian President Putin vowed revenge on Ukraine following a drone attack.

Senior lecturer in international relations at RMIT University, Dr Aiden Warren,  says Trump is learning the ‘cold hard truth” about international relations.

“International Relations aren’t about getting a deal done and transactional agreements, there’s a lot of nuance, there’s a lot of complexities, and he thinks he can walk away or push a deal between Russia and Ukraine, and he’s finding it very difficult,” he said.
