Brisbane City Councillor Ryan Murphy has been diagnosed with prostate cancer at just age 36 and is now calling for urgent reform to Australia’s approach to prostate screening. 

Brisbane City Councillor Ryan Murphy has been diagnosed with prostate cancer at just age 36.

The husband and father of one is now calling for urgent reform to Australia’s approach to prostate screening.

Brisbane City Councillor Ryan Murphy told 4BC Drive host Gary Hardgrave “We had a pretty rough time in the first week, particularly when we looked up the stats and likelihood of getting this at this age,”

“There’s only 1.4 men between 35-40 that get prostate cancer this year.” Hardgrave continued.
