Meta and Google in the spotlight after Trump reverses TikTok ban

TikTok was banned in America by the Biden administration, but on the eve of his inauguration Donald Trump has reverse this decision, reinstating the social media app early this morning.

Technology Expert Trevor Long told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “It’s hilarious to me when anyone says, oh, I wouldn’t go on TikTok it’s owned by the Chinese, I don’t want them having my data.”

“But you’re okay with Google knowing way more than Chinese know about you and Facebook and yes, they’re American companies, but who cares?”

“They’re a company that is monetizing your data, they own more about you than anyone could ever believe,” Trevor Long said.
