Inflation falls but food prices remain elevated

Headline inflation has dropped to its lowest level in about four years, but food prices remain elevated.

Annual food prices sit at 3-point-3 percent, with berries, capsicum, tomatoes and cooking oils putting pressure on the figures.

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with Rabobank food retail analyst Michael Harvey, who says food production is always volatile.
