On the show today: Gardening Hour sees Paul Plant and Olympia discuss tips for fertilising as the temperatures rise – including what plants to hold off on. Paul also answers your questions about oddly coloured lemons, treating a parasite issue on a fig tree, and creating a garden bed under a Poinciana Tree.
PLUS Paul introduces his plant of the week: the Cut Leaf Daisy (Brachyscome multifida) – found mostly in NSW and Victoria but it can thrive in SE QLD if in the right position.
In the second hour; Olympia continues the conversation about Fire Ants with entomologist and fire ant expert Dr Robert Puckett. Dr Puckett has extensive experience working to eradicate fire ants in the US and tells us about his travels around Australia imparting his knowledge. He also shares if he is hopeful that we can eradicate fire ants once and for all.
Olympia also chats with President of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Peter Bongiorni ahead of their annual Ukrainian Festival today. Taking place today, the festival commemorates Ukrainian Independence Day and Peter tells us more about what we can expect.
PLUS: We hear from Andrew South of First National By The Bay for a weekly real estate update.
