Concerns as Pest Oyster Spreads

A pest oyster, detected in Queensland waterways, has the potential to invade estuaries further south.

The Suminoe oyster can carry exotic diseases and parasites and competes with native species.

Rural reporter Sophie Clarke caught up with Biosecurity Queensland’s Enrico Perotti to hear more about the pests and weather they could spread.
