Paul Burt

On the show today: Gardening Hour sees Olympia and Arno King discuss why the cooler weather is great for getting into your veggie garden and planting a good variety of tomatoes and leafy greens. Plus Arno introduces his plant of the week: the native Butterfly Bush (Pavetta Australiensis).

In the second hour, Olympia talks about staggering queuing times for voters during yesterday’s Local Council Election. Kris Spann from Bin Bypass drops by the studio to talk about their new docking stations that they hope to introduce to public bins for easier recycling. Electoral Commission of QLD’s Executive Director of Election Event Management Julie Cavanagh  also calls in to debrief about yesterday’s election process and responds to reports of early closures and lack of staff in some locations. She also answers some more specific questions around why voters can only use pencils and whether voting on a phone or tablet will ever be possible.
