Ben Ikin dismisses claims AFL will be the biggest sport in Queensland

Ben Ikin shuts down comments made by Gillion McLachlan that AFL will be more popular than rugby league in Queensland. 

AFL CEO, Gillon McLachlan, told Neill Mitchell on 3AW Mornings that Queensland, “is becoming an AFL state.”

QRL CEO, Ben Ikin, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive that participation in rugby league is consistently increasing.

“The truth is the health of our game, rugby league, which is the most popular sport in the state, has never been better,” Mr. Ikin said.
