Researchers are studying the origins of bee diseases and how they spread, to prevent further incursions.

They’ve been looking at two strains of Deformed Wing Virus, which has been devastating western honeybee populations around the world.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Australian National University Professor Sasha Mikhyev to hear how diseases are being spread via varroa mite, which is now in Australia.
