Dreamworld hero awarded bravery medal today

The 2016 Dreamworld Thunder River Rapids ride tragedy shook the nation; today the heroes have been recognised for their incredible bravery.

Four people tragically lost their lives in the Dreamworld incident on October 25th, 2016.

Steve Apthorp was one of the first people on the scene to assist.

Today, Mr Apthorp received a bravery medal from the Royal Humane Society of Australiasia, recognising his heroic actions on that fateful day.

Mr Apthorp joined Neil Breen on Brisbane Live to discuss the tragedy and how he’s going seven years on.
