Sofie Formica breaks down on-air over deaths of young sisters

Sofie Formica has fought back tears on-air over the sentencing of a mother whose daughters died in a scorching hot car in 2019.
Kerri-Ann Conley pleaded guilty to manslaughter after the girls were left strapped to their car seats for several hours on a hot summer day.
Today, she was sentenced to nine years in jail but will be eligible for parole as soon as November next year.
“I’m going to try not to cry when I talk about this,” Sofie said. “The hardest part of this story is you can see their little faces whenever you open up one of these stories.
“From what I can understand, … [the government] had been warned, there had been people in the family who knew about this situation, who tried to get some help.
“I’m shaking. I’m shaking because I don’t know how it is that we can allow someone to live a life … of drugs, the kids die in the car at her hands, and she gets out in November of 2024.”
