Premier under pressure to recall parliament over youth crime epidemic
The Premier says she won’t be recalling parliament early to deal with the youth crime epidemic, despite calls from the Opposition.
Annastacia Palaszczuk returned to work yesterday after taking extended leave for Christmas but parliament won’t sit for another month.
“We need this reform, these 10 new measures that she introduced before she went on holidays,” 9News reporter Peter Fegan told Ray Hadley.
“But David Crisafulli is saying, ‘Well, resume parliament now so we can get them through before someone else loses their life’.”
The Opposition has confirmed it will vote with the state government to pass the legislation.
