Hundreds of Queensland taxi and rideshare drivers issued fines
More than 600 fines have been given to Queensland taxi and rideshare drivers found to be refusing short fares and overcharging.
Authorities intercepted 2,056 taxis, limousines and booked hire vehicles.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey told Neil Breen after hearing reports from the public about dodgy rideshares, he decided to take action.
“People need to have confidence about getting home safely and consistently.”
