The eyewatering price for a pint of beer at a Byron pub

luke brandnam

A Byron Bay venue has been caught stinging customers almost $20 for a pint of beer over the holidays.

A user shared their receipt from a few drinks in a now-viral Reddit post, revealing three pints of Peroni had set them back a whopping $58.20.

Stone and Wood was priced a little lower, at $17.40 a pint.

“When I was drinking, a pint of beer was $10,” Luke Bradnam said on 4BC Summer Breakfast. “Quite frankly, I was thinking I was getting stiffed a little at $10.

“That’s a rip-off, right? I’ve never heard of beer prices that high in Brisbane…”

Listener Mary-Anne told Luke that Byron Bay isn’t the only place with eye-watering drinks prices.
