Slain police officers to be farewelled in memorial service tomorrow
A memorial for slain police officers Constable Matthew Arnold and Constable Rachel McCrow will be held on Wednesday.
They will be farewelled with full honours at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall.
8,000 people are expected to attend the service in person.
Superintendent Doug McDonald told Spencer Howson on 4BC Summer Breakfast tickets are available online for anyone who wants to go and pay their respects.
“One of the key things that we’ll be seeing is a guard of honour that will form up at the conclusion of the memorial service,” he said.
“That will involve all our serving and former police officers … and as you can imagine, with the interest and the number of police that are attending this, it will be a very long guard of honour.
“[It will be] quite spectacular in terms of the resources that we have there to provide a proper farewell for our members.
