Former Socceroos captain Paul Wade says his blood is still boiling after a violent pitch invasion at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

The Melbourne derby was abandoned after fans from the Melbourne Victory active area stormed the field.

Melbourne City goalkeeper Tom Glover was taken to hospital with a head injury after being struck by a metal bucket full of sand.

The bucket also struck a match official, while a cameraman was struck in the back of the head with a flare.

“Tom’s life, I think, was in danger,” Wade told Spencer Howson on 4BC Summer Breakfast. “Let’s not cover this up, let’s not colour it in.

“I was absolutely livid. My blood still boils.”
