More storms on the way as ‘volatile’ conditions continue this week

Dean & Sofie

We haven’t seen the last of wild weather this week after parts of the south-east were battered by what authorities called the first tropical storm of the season.

The front yesterday stretched 260 kilometres across the south-east, rolling over the Gold Coast and all the way up to north Brisbane.

The volatile weather was driven by a trough and a cold front, which is what’s caused temperatures to plummet across the south-east this week.

Today reporter Mia Glover told Laurel, Gary & Mark those conditions haven’t quite cleared up yet.

“It is going to be a very wild week,” she said. “With more storms coming this afternoon, we could see more of those power outages too.

“The bureau says this week is going to be pretty volatile, it is going to be really rainy, really stormy, so it is just going to be a mixed bag all week.”
