World first genome mapping for avocados

Researchers have, for the first time, mapped the genome of an avocado, paving the way for growers to improve on-farm productivity.

The Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation has determined which genes are responsible for which characteristic of the Hass variety.
