Local community BBQ initiative bringing men together
A butcher on the Sunshine Coast has come up with a local community initiative to help give men a safe space to have a chat.
Every Friday at 4pm, locals are invited in for a community barbecue to catch up and give away a few meat trays.
It’s been picked up on social media and thousands of people have been applauding the idea.
Brenton Harris, who owns the Original Forest Glen Glen Butchery, said it’s been running for 10 weeks.
Brenton, an avid NRL fan wanted to do something to support men’s health in the wake of the tragic death of Paul Green.
“It all starts with ‘how are you going, what’s going on mate?’ and it goes from there.”
