Two boaties have been found floating in the water off Caloundra, after they made a call for help.

Their boat starting sinking after the engine failed around 2pm, 20 kilometres off shore.

The pair have since been spotted floating in the water, and successfully winched to safety.

They were located after an hour and a half search operation.

It’s understood the boat sunk.

#Marcoola – The rescue helicopter is attending to a distress call from a boat in the ocean south of Mooloolaba. Patients have reportedly been retrieved from the water, awaiting QAS assessment.
