It’s been a fortnight since NASA’s asteroid crash. Was it successful?

Dean & Sofie

NASA has confirmed it successfully altered the path of an asteroid after spending two weeks measuring the aftermath of a spacecraft crash.

The orbit of Dimorphos has been altered by 32 minutes, marking the first time humans have changed the path of a celestial object in space.

Astrophysicist Brad Tucker told Laurel, Gary & Mark to be a success, the asteroid needed to be nudged by just 73 seconds.
