An auction celebrating 60 years of James Bond has raised $12 million AUD for charity, with a stunt car becoming the jewel in the crown.

More than two dozen movie props went under the hammer, including a specialty-built Aston Martin DB5 driven by Daniel Craig in his final Bond movie, No Time To Die.

Christie’s director Adrian Hume-Sayer told Laurel, Gary & Mark it was the only stunt car released for public sale.

“Beforehand, we knew that would be the star and it didn’t disappoint,” he said.

“It was made to look like it was all scraped down both sides for continuity but it was actually painted on!”
