About 700 dignitaries have gathered at Parliament House in Canberra for the National Memorial Service.

A minute silence will be held at 11 o’clock, ahead of the proceedings, in honour of the queen.

ADF Director General for Military Strategic Commitments Commodore Don Dezentje told Mark Levy there will be a midday flypast, weather permitting.
