Experts say it’s time to ditch this Queensland mask rule

There’s a push for a slate of mask rules to be ditched in Queensland as other states move on.
NSW and SA yesterday announced one of the last remaining COVID-19 restrictions would come to an end, bringing transport in line with changes made to airport and plane rules.
Face masks are still required when catching public transport, taxis and rideshares in the Sunshine State.
Mater Research director of infectious diseases Paul Griffin told Spencer Howson it makes sense for Queensland to follow suit.
“It makes it really hard for people to understand what the right move is if some states are doing it and some states aren’t,” he said.
“I think the adherence is very low, the amount that it’s been enforced has been very low as well.
“I think it probably is appropriate to relax those rules now.”
