A man in his 30s died after a plane crash in Canaga near Chincilla this afternoon.

Investigators believe the agricultural aircraft lost altitude while crop dusting near Chinchilla Wondai Road and crash landed in a paddock.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane.

The Forensic Crash Unit, working alongside the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), will prepare a report for the Coroner.
