Aussie travellers are listing their properties on home exchange website to free up their holiday budgets as the cost of living soars. 

Sites like People Like Us allow users to swap houses with someone else, either in Australia or overseas, to drastically cut accommodation bills.

Founder Drew Seitam told Laurel, Gary & Mark most of the 6000 listings on his house swap site are based in the northern hemisphere.

“About 50 per cent of our homes are in Europe, and another 25 per cent are in the US, so we do see a lot of international travel,” he said.
