Inquiry to be launched into Scott Morrison’s secret portfolios

neil breen

The federal government will launch an inquiry into Scott Morrison’s secret portfolios.

A report by the solicitor-general Dr Stephen Donaghue today handed down legal advice relating to the former prime minister’s decision to secretly swear himself into additional portfolios.

The report found that the secrecy “fundamentally undermined” principles of a responsible government.

4BC’s federal political editor Michael Pachi said Anthony Albanese has announced a further inquiry into the timeline.

“The solicitor-general says Scott Morrison should have been transparent about what he was doing, that he was taking on these other portfolios.”

He said he’s hearing talk that it’s possibly a bit of “payback”.
