Two charged over alleged theft of car and chihuahua
Two have been charged over the alleged theft of a car and dog in Brisbane’s north last month.
Zoe the Chihuahua was asleep in the back of a Suzuki Swift while her owner went to buy coffee at an Alderley café on July 24 when the pair allegedly stole the car.
She was reunited with her owner a few days later when she was handed in to a vet practice in Stafford.
The car was later tracked down at Boondall after it was spotted with different registration plates by an off-duty officer.
A 26-year-old Gordon Park man has been charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and fraud.
He appeared at the Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody, to reappear on September 19.
A 34-year-old Gordon Park woman has been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle and stealing.
She will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 30.
