US President Joe Biden tests positive for COVID-19
US President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 as new variants of coronavirus sweep the nation.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says Biden is experiencing “mild symptoms” and has begun taking an antiviral medication.
The 79-year-old, who is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will continue to carry out his duties remotely while he isolates at the White House.
First Lady Jill Biden has so far tested negative and will continue her full schedule.
