The social media trend driving Dymocks’ bold expansion plans

One of Australia’s biggest book retailers is expanding after a resurgence of interest in the written word.
Dymocks has announced plans for more stores across the country, with a particular focus on growing its operations in Queensland.

Retail Managing Director Mark Newman told Sofie Formica a social media trend can take credit for interest in reading among younger Australians.
Videos with using #BookTok tag on TikTok have amassed billions of views, marking a corner of the platform devoted to reading.

“There are authors and books that were published five, six years or so ago that have been given a new lease of life through this medium!”
