The owners of short-term holiday homes will be in the crosshairs under new measures in this year’s Brisbane City Council budget. 

The Lord Mayor has announced landlords must decide between returning their Stayz and Airbnb listings to the long-term rental market or face significantly higher rates.

He said the move is aims to ease a chronic shortage of rental homes across the Brisbane region.

The 2022-23 Brisbane City Council Budget will be released later this morning.
