Brisbane’s International Cruise Terminal welcomes first liner

4BC Breakfast + 4BC drive

Brisbane’s tourism industry has been given a boost with the arrival of the city’s first cruise-ship in more than two years to the new International Cruise Terminal.

More than 1500 people spent the day exploring, after sailing here on P&O’s Pacific Explorer.

Sarah Swain, a senior digital reporter for nine.com.au, is a self-confessed cruising fan.

She told Scott Emerson it was great to be on board for the momentous occasion.

“I think throughout the rest of year, up towards Christmas, a lot more are going to be coming back and then in January and early next year it seems to be going back to what it used to be.

“It’s a very popular growing holiday, worth $5 billion to Australia. It will take a while but definitely on its way now.”
