Public land managers are being told they need to hold up their end of the bargain, as weed numbers explode in regional communities.

New South Wales Farmers is calling on the state government to boost funding for training and compliance measures, to make sure towns aren’t being overrun by invasive species.

Rural reporter Madelaine McNeill caught up with New South Wales Farmers Biosecurity chairman Ian McColl to talk about the issue, and potential risks.
