Gary Hardgrave

An unusual installation has taken the top gong at an art competition north of Brisbane.

Viva!, by Karike Ashworth, has been claimed the first place prize of $5000 in the Moreton Bay Region Galleries & Museums’ 2022 Art Prize competition.

The installation features a sewn paper towel, mounted on a 1970s-style paper towel holder.

The piece can be purchased for $609.90.
