Coles to spend $10 million on blue carbon projects in Great Barrier Reef

Supermarket giant Coles has committed $10 million to develop blue carbon projects at the Great Barrier Reef.
The company is working to improve its sustainability standards to better appeal to ethically-minded customers over competitors.
Initial projects will focus on seagrass revegetation and mangrove forest regeneration, which Coles’ Chief Sustainability Officer Thinus Keeve will help filter water and build habitats for local fauna.
“Restoring that part of the ecosystem will restore and build resilience in the reef so that we can take our kids there.”
