The ‘major issue’ for the LNP moving forward

Scott Emerson

A Gold Coast MP has admitted the LNP needs to connect with female voters and bring more women in to the party.

LNP member for Moncrieff, Angie Bell, who is also a former president of the women’s division of the LNP, says the party must go back to its core values.

“I think we need to support more women into the party, and that is a serious discussion we have to have with party members because those decisions do lie with the party membership and I think it’s important they are discussed as a major issue.”

She stopped short of supporting quotas, although she said there could be a place for quotas in LNP preselection.

She says Australians are sick of the left and right paradigm.
