Reports favoured lobbyist firms secured lion’s share of meetings with state
The Palaszczuk government has reportedly garnered an “unacceptable” relationship with three select lobbyist groups in the 18 months since its re-election.
Three firms have reportedly secured a total 1241 meetings with the state since October 31, 2020, totalling around 70 per cent of all lobbyist meetings.
It means government officials met with the three lobbying groups an average of 14 times per week.
It comes after three pages of Peter Coaldrake’s 26-page interim report discussed lobbyist firms playing an active role in getting the Palaszczuk government re-elected.
“It’s astonishing,” Neil Breen said. “It is nothing short of totally and utterly unacceptable in any democracy that something like that could happen.”
