‘Smacks of blame-shifting’: ‘Rigged’ Qld health crisis inquiry released

MML

A state-ordered inquiry into Queensland’s struggling health system has pointed the finger at the federal government.

The Palaszczuk government was targeted in just four out of more than 40 recommendations put forward by the report.

It’s led to suggestions the report was “rigged” against the Commonwealth.

AMA Queensland Vice President Bav Manoharan told Scott Emerson the report was a letdown.

“When we saw the report, it was really disappointing,” he said. “It really just smacks of blame-shifting.

“What we need to see is a strategy from Queensland Health … and that’s not actually a Commonwealth issue.”
