Who’s winning and losing in the 2022 federal budget

Gary Hardgrave

The 2022 federal budget has spent big across the board to win voters ahead of the election.

An election budget means there’s bound to be more winners than losers but doubts last night held long-term substance have spelled out a clear highlight.

Aspire Retire Financial Services co-founder Olivia Maragna says superannuation was the true frontrunner policy.

“No huge changes to superannuation, which is a massive relief,” she told Neil Breen.

“The 50 per cent reduction of your superannuation minimum drawdown is extended for another year.

“Retirees will already know about this – they can reduce or halve the amount that they normally take out of super.

“It means they get to keep their super for longer, it’s extended for another year.”
