A driver in a stolen Land Rover has allegedly hit a number of cars and crashed on the Bruce Highway this afternoon.

Queensland Police confirmed to 4BC Drive the car crashed on the Bruce Highway northbound at Burpengary near the Deception Bay off ramp.

It allegedly hit multiple cars and the driver attempted to flee before being arrested by police.

The driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

The incident has created heavy delays for the afternoon peak, with 30 kilometres of traffic.
