Brisbane 2032: Coaches to scour state for future gold rush

Queensland is searching for its 2032 Olympic stars with 11 coaches set to scour the state for future athletes.

Thousands of budding sport stars will be tested over the next two years, vying for a spot at the Queensland Academy of Sport.

Nine News reporter Shannon Marshall-McCormack told Sofie Formica there will be 400 places on offer.

“They’ll look at their physical and mental attributes and see what sport they might best be suited for,” he said.

“It’s a long road to glory, even if you just want to get into the program itself, and an even longer road to the Olympics.”
