4BC News

Forecasters believe the wetter than usual conditions due to La Niña will last into early autumn.

The Bureau of Meteorology has released its January climate summary and the month was warmer and wetter than average.

Senior meteorologist Johnathan How says above average rainfall will last for another few months at least.

“For the rest of summer, we are expecting increased chance of flooding as well as more tropical cyclones as well.”
