Eight Mile Plains testing site creates ‘distressing’ conditions for residents

Gary Hardgrave

An Eight Mile Plains resident says testing clinics are distressing the local community.

Edwina told Neil Breen while through most of the pandemic, a 4Cyte testing facility hasn’t been much trouble, the situation has been getting worse since the borders reopened.

“It’s weaving through our neighbourhood and blocking driveways, people are lining from the early hours of the morning.

“We’ve had people defecating and weeing at numerous houses around the area, using building sites’ porta-potties.”

She said elderly residents in particular are being upset by the conditions.

“There’s many people in the neighbourhood who’ve called Brisbane City Council, Queensland Health and they all kind of pass the buck.”
