Mark Levy has pointed out a logical flaw in the Prime Minister’s defence of no nationwide mask mandate.  

It was initially tipped the state and territory leaders would bring in a blanket mask rule when they met with the Prime Minister yesterday, but no such agreement was made.

Instead, Scott Morrison insisted a mandate isn’t necessary, as people have a personal responsibility for their health.

“It’s quite clear to me the respective health experts want to make masks compulsory, but the political leaders just won’t commit to it,” Mark said.

“Mr Morrison pointed to the vast majority of people who were wearing masks at shopping centres and when they’re in indoor settings, but it only takes one person to spread it.”

The Prime Minister drew a ‘confusing’ comparison of mask-wearing to protecting your skin in summer.

“Mr Morrison, there’s a huge difference between being sunburnt and catching COVID; one is highly contagious, the other is brought on by not protecting yourself from the sun…”
