How a Brisbane company has people trading their tinnies for tea

A Brisbane-based company is encouraging partygoers and tea lovers alike to trade their beers for a different kind of brew.

East Forged has been winning accolades for its cold brew teas, which look deceptively like a beer when hard-poured – right down to the tinny exterior.

Co-founder Kym Cooper told Sofie Formica the company’s success is driven by sober movements and health consciousness.

“In our teas, they’re slightly carbonated to give a little sparkle and a fizz, but the majority of it is the nitrogen dosing.

“Nitrogen doesn’t interact with tea at all and it keeps that nice flavour of tea, but it gives it a beautiful, silky-smooth head.

“So it’s like a full drinking experience in a tea.”
