Sydney’s new water strategy explores use of recycled sewage

Professor Stuart Khan, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of NSW and a member of the Independent Metropolitan Water Advisory Panel, joins Michael to discuss the ‘Greater Sydney Water Strategy’ which was released for public consultation yesterday.

 

The report notes that Sydneysiders will be encouraged to consider the use of purified sewage for drinking water as the population grows, and that Sydney was far more reliant on rainfall than other major Australian cities.
