A report shows record demand for suicide prevention services, especially among young people.

Suicide Prevention Australia says 84 per cent of services have seen an increase in demand in the year to August.

Lifeline Australia CEO Colin Seery has told Neil Breen the pandemic is playing a huge role.

“Sunday and Monday this week were the two biggest days we’ve ever had.

“We had over 3,600 calls per day. To put it in perspective, say, back in 2019, we would have on average around 2,400 calls a day.”
